10 Workouts To Do With Your Dog

Why exercise by yourself when you can exercise with your dog?

Dogs make excellent exercise companions. They maintain a cheerful attitude, assist you in having fun, and reward you with cuddles at the end! What could possibly be wrong with that? Check out our pup and human friendly workouts below if you're searching for some new ways to be active with your dog.

1. Go For A Trail Run

Both people and dogs benefit from running on a trail. It forces humans to run harder on uneven terrain while also being gentler on your dog's sensitive paws. This is also a fantastic way to get some exercise while admiring the landscape.

2. Doggy Yoga

People and dogs both benefit from running on a trail. It forces humans to work harder while jogging on uneven terrain, and it is gentler on your dog's delicate paws. This is also a wonderful opportunity to catch some fresh air and enjoy the landscape.

3.  Tennis

It is entirely feasible to play tennis with your dog. Do you want to improve your serve? Incorporate this into a fetch game! This is a wonderful workout and skill practice for you, plus it adds some fun to the traditional fetch game. Everyone comes out on top!

4. Cardio Circuit

If you want to spice up your morning dog walk, sprint for 30 seconds before doing a strengthening workout. For example, run for 30 seconds before doing squats. Give your animal companion a scratch or a rub every time you go down, so they can join in on the strength training as well.

5. Shake and Lunge

This one only works if your dog has been taught to shake hands; otherwise, replace the shake with a massage. Do a reverse stepping lunge, similar to the squats stated above, and when you come down, ask your dog to shake. It's really simple. It was a great time.

6. Puppy Push-Ups

If you have a huge dog or a poor back, don't do this at home. Place your dog on your back and complete 10 reps for a fun and tough twist on push-ups. It's a great way to do some exercise while still getting some hugs!

7. The Doggy Wall Sit

There are two variations of this exercise: little dog and large dog.

Position yourself against the wall with your back against the wall and your knees at a 90-degree angle from the floor and above your heels for a small dog. Then, for a little more weight, hold your little dog.

Position yourself similarly for a large dog, but have your dog sit across from you and rest their paws on your knees for added weight.

8. Go for a Swim

Maybe not in the Elite pool, but if you live near a pond or a lake, get your swimming suit out! Swimming is beneficial to a dog's joints and is less stressful on their paws than jogging. Swimming is also beneficial to individuals.

9.  Ultimate Frisbee

This enjoyable workout may be enjoyed by the entire family! Head out for a fun game of ultimate Frisbee with the kids, significant other, and dog. This is a great aerobic workout that also tests your hand-eye coordination and strategic thinking.

10.  Build an Obstacle Course

This is another game that the entire family can enjoy. Get a hula hoop to jump through and scatter stuff in your yard for them to run around in. For an obstacle course, there are a plethora of options!

So, instead of limiting yourself to just going for a stroll (which is still great exercise), check out some of these entertaining workouts! Make a fun day of fitness with your pet family member by including the entire family.
